We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Junior Receptionist to join our Vancouver office. As a self-starter you’ll handle reception, administration and assist in basic accounting tasks. Flexibility and adeptness in managing varied responsibilities will ensure positive and efficient interactions within the firm and with external parties. Our ideal candidate possesses a collaborative spirit, a sense of humour, a keenness to learn and is open to working 32 hours per week.

 

What you’ll do:

    • Manage reception duties: handling calls, welcoming visitors, coordinating couriers and being a friendly and professional face of the company
    • Maintain office supplies, equipment, data bases and calendars as well as general office tidiness
    • Assist in basic accounting functions, like customer invoicing, expense processing, sales reports and timesheets (training will be provided)
    • Provide general support to managers, partners and team members as needed

Desired Skills + Qualifications:

    • Willingness to learn office systems and procedures
    • Typing speed of at least 50wpm with accuracy
    • Strong command of MS Office Suite specifically Excel; familiarity with Quickbooks is advantageous (training will be provided)
    • Initiative, attention to detail, problem solving skills and follow-through 
    • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Demonstrated ability to work alone and independently

Qualifications you have:

    • Legally permitted to work in Canada
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience in Reception and/or Administration; those with relevant experience will also be considered
    • High School diploma; additional office administration, and/or basic accounting courses are a plus
    • Access to reliable transportation for on-site work at our office

We’re seeking a dedicated professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a passion for excellence in financial management. With a flexible schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, this role offers the perfect balance between work and life commitments.

 
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of our firm while fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and mentorship. Your expertise will guide our team towards greater efficiency and accuracy in accounting practices, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems. This role will be based out of our Vancouver office.
 

What you’ll do:

Process Optimization and Documentation: Establish and document efficient processes and systems for accounting operations to enhance productivity and clarity. 

Support and Guidance: Assist accounting team members by troubleshooting issues, guiding them on General Ledger (GL) coding, and addressing queries to ensure smooth operations. 

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of various taxes including Corporate Tax, GST, PST (BC and Sask), WCB, WSIB, and EHT (BC and ON) to meet regulatory requirements. 

Payroll: Serve as backup for bi-weekly payroll processing, calculate extended health and dental payroll deductions, prepare annual total compensation reports and produce annual T4s for employees. 

Financial Reporting + Analysis: Generate monthly financial statements, including Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, cash position reports, and financial analysis. Present reports at monthly Shareholder meetings and provide detailed P&L breakdowns by Job, Customer, Project Manager (PM), Industry, and Region quarterly. Collaborate with external accountants to provide accurate financial statements and working papers at year-end. 

Desired Skills + Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated proficiency with Quickbooks Online + MS Office Suite
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and activities
    • Excellent communication skills 
    • Prior experience mentoring + supervising staff an asset
    • Minimum five (5) years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience
    • Legally permitted to work in Canada 
    • Access to reliable transportation for on-site work at our office

      • Develop, coordinate + procure FF&E packages aligned with the programmed budget
