Railtown Cafe Howe St. Vancouver, BC. 1,200 sq.ft. restaurant completed in 2016 with Pacific Solutions Contracting. First of 3 roll-outs within Vancouver for chef Dan Olson’s Railtown Cafe. The space utilizes industrial influences from it’s origins near the port. Authentic materials are used throughout to complement the natural ingredients used in the bright open kitchen. Worn furniture reflects a well-loved dining room, while custom painted walls and floor artwork reference the hand crafted quality of food.

The Holy Crab

The Holy Crab, Vancouver, BC is a 2,700 sq.ft. Seafood Restaurant completed in 2017 with Pacific Solutions Contracting. Architectural code review & interior design TI project.The first expansion of the The Holy Crab brand in North America was inspired both by the original location in Jakarta, as well as nautical detailing specific to the Pacific Northwest. Teak, rope, and boathouse style finishing complement southern kitchen floor tile artwork & hand drawn chalkboard art.

Wahlburgers

Wahlburgers, Toronto’s newest burger destination, is a family friendly restaurant that pays homage to elevated burgers and comfort food from the brothers’ childhood days in Boston. The restaurant is situated in the boutique SoHo Metropolitan Hotel at 46 Blue Jays Way, just south of King Street West. Founded in 2011 by the Wahlberg brothers, Paul, Mark and Donnie, Wahlburgers is a Hingham-based restaurant based on family, celebrity, ambition, and burgers. Wahlburgers Canada is a collaboration of the Wahlbergs with Bruce Greenberg, President of Starwood Group; Michael Wekerle, Executive Chairman of Difference Capital, and Henry Wu, President of Metropolitan Hotels.

Cascades Casino Kamloops

Located in Kamloops, BC, the new Cascades Casino features the adaptive re-use of an existing RONA store into a full-service entertainment hub. Complete with an outdoor amphitheatre, multiple patios, high end restaurants, and gaming floors; the Cascades Casino in Kamloops promises to an entertainment centre within the City in the near future.

Milltown Bar & Grill

MGBA was hired to bring Milltown Bar & Grill into existence, providing the architectural legwork necessary to get this beautiful restaurant up and running. Located in Richmond BC, the Milltown Bar & Grill has been satisfying hungry Richmondites since 2014.

Pidgin

From their website: “At PiDGiN, we see no need for distinctions between casual and fine dining. A restaurant can be both beautiful and comfortable; cuisine can be at once delicate and approachable. As dining perspectives have changed, so too has the line between east and west. From their website: “The Loge Club will take exclusive and prestigious to a new level; located on the Scotiabank Executive Suite Level, this intimate club boasts 13 theatre-style six-person boxes, each complete with its own private dining table and liquor locker.” On this project, MGBA was the registered coordinating professional, overseeing code compliance, architectural design improvements, and construction.

Match Squamish

From their website: “Match Eatery & Public House is located at The Chances Community Gaming Centre in Squamish. It is the first British-style gastro pub to open in Squamish and features traditional eats while offering everything from live entertainment to shuffleboard. Just 40 minutes from the North Shore on the scenic Sea to Sky Highway half way between Vancouver and Whistler at Valley Drive. 100 gaming machines, 102 seat Bingo area, Racebook and Poker Tournaments along with MATCH Eatery and Public House providing weekly entertainment all sporting events including UFC and Boxing.”

The Charles Bar

From their website: “The Charles Bar literally supports the ground floor of the famous Woodward’s building, a perfect metaphor for the way the popular bar holds down residents and neighbours in their socializing and entertainment needs. The room’s airy, modern design and unique V-shape allow for simultaneous trivial pursuits – guests can crowd the bar watching a game on the 9′ HD screen while around the corner others can be enjoying well-crafted food and drink menus in low booths. The Charles Bar staff are well known to Gastown locals, who make regulars of themselves for the guaranteed good times while DJs round out the venue on weekend nights, dropping everything from classic hip hop to R&B to your favourite Top 40 songs.”

The Modern

Project size: 1,000 sf – Budget: $1m

The Modern — 7 Alexander Street,  Gastown, Vancouver —  is a hospitality re-adaptation project involving a  complex interconnected space, varied and retained structural systems located in an historic building.

Our work developed unique solutions to the challenges presented by this existing structure, interconnections, materiality of old and new, and the implementation of a unique unisex washroom arrangement.

The Lamplighter

The Lamplighter is a pub in historic Gastown currently owned and operated by the Donnelly Group.
